Awhile back, I did a video about my favorite art supplies, my Top 5. I complained that I love the Copic brush tip but find the ink goes speckled when you blend it a lot. The Winsor and Newton Promarker on the other hand, have amazing inks that look smooth, flat and colorful but are NOT refillable like Copics... Basically, I was wishing for the best of both -good inks in a brush tip marker that is refillable. One of my YouTube subscribers suggested Illustrator from Spectrum Noir, a dual tip marker with the ability to be refilled. I was interested so I picked up a small 4 pack of markers to have a go with. My initial review of them was very positive and I'm looking forwards to creating some actual artwork using them soon. I'm also waiting for one of them to run out so I can have a go at refilling it!! In the meantime, you can check out my video review right here: I hope you like it and if you do, or you have anything to share about Illustrator markers, then leave a comment

I finally got around to using these much-talked about Albrecht Durer watercolour pencils from Faber Castell and i'm glad to report that I wasn't disappointed. I used the 24 colour set and found them really reactive with the water and brightly coloured. They didn't seem to have that 'greasy' quality that I normally associate with watercolour pencils at all. I really tried to put them through their paces and probably compared them mostly with Derwent watercolour pencils as they are what I've had for years! I've made 3 youtube videos with them so far but the best place to start and follow my journey with them is my original review. If you watch it, let me know what YOU think and if you used them.

I got asked to design a couple of t shirts for the Captains of a charity dodgeball game, so ofcourse I said yes! Arteza had sent me some fabric markers to have a go with so I used them to draw the designs straight onto the shirts after a bit of pencil drawing.  It was a lot of fun but reminded me of all the pitfalls of drawing on thin fabric from when i've done this kind of thing before :D  I think I might try drawing on a tote bag or some canvas trainers next time - thicker fabric? You can see how I got on with this assignment in my youtube review video: If you watch, please leave a comment, like or subscribe... :D gee
